# Courier tracking software: how it works and what to check

Courier tracking means the courier's app sends their position often, so the dispatcher sees it on a map and the customer sees it on a tracking link for the order. The payoff: faster dispatch to the nearest courier, fewer "where is my order?" calls, and knowing who is late before the customer complains.

## What the dispatcher sees
The dispatch board shows open orders with how long they have waited, and couriers with their state (available, busy, off duty) and position, so you can pick a courier yourself or let the system choose the nearest.

## What the customer sees
A link that arrives on WhatsApp or by message and opens with no app and no sign-up, showing the order status and their courier on a map, with your logo. It shows no sensitive data and expires 24 hours after the order ends.

## Accuracy and privacy
The app sends the position at short intervals, and old positions are kept for a limited time and then deleted. Make sure couriers know their location is used only while working, and that the system you choose hides customer details once an order is closed.

## What to ask before choosing
Does the map and tracking work on couriers' ordinary phones? Is the customer link in Arabic and with your logo? Does the dispatcher see why no courier is available?
- Live courier position
- A customer link that needs no app
- Old positions deleted automatically

## Questions
### Does the customer need an app?
No. The link works straight from the browser with no sign-up.

### Does tracking work offline?
The courier needs a connection to send the position. If it drops, steps are recorded and sent when the connection returns.
