# Delivery pricing: fixed, by distance or by zone

There are three common ways to price delivery: a fixed price per order, a price by distance (a base price plus a price per extra kilometre), or a price per zone. The right one depends on how much the distances in your city vary and what your merchants expect.

## A fixed price
The simplest: one amount per order wherever it goes. It suits a small city or a clear policy for merchants, but it undercharges far orders or overcharges near ones.

## A price by distance
A base price for a set distance, then a price for each extra kilometre. Example (illustration only): 20 EGP for the first 3 km + 5 EGP per extra km, so a 7 km order = 20 + 4 × 5 = 40 EGP. The distance is the road distance when a maps service is available.

## A price by zone
Draw zones on the map and set a price for each; the price follows the zone of the drop-off address. You can also set a fallback price for anywhere outside the zones, and a priority when two zones overlap.

## Special prices and rounding
A merchant can have a special price that applies only to them. The final price is rounded as you choose: no rounding, to the nearest half pound, or to the nearest pound.
