Privacy policy

What data we collect, why, who sees it, and how we protect it.

Last updated:

1. Who is responsible for your data

Sekka is a product of Intelligent Solutions in Egypt. For your account data and website visitors, we are the data controller.

For the operational data a delivery company enters (its customers, merchants, couriers and orders), the company is the controller and we process it on its behalf and on its instructions.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: name, email, mobile number, company name, governorate and city, and a password (stored hashed; we cannot read it).
  • Order data: the customer's name, number, address and map location, sender and recipient details, amounts to collect, delivery fee and order status.
  • Merchant and courier data: name and mobile, a merchant's pickup address and location, a courier's vehicle type, and pay and cash figures.
  • Courier location: collected from the courier app during work and open orders only, for dispatch and tracking.
  • Device and usage data: device type, push-notification token, IP address, and a record of important actions in the system for security and audit.
  • Website data: what you type in the contact form, and aggregated visit statistics (Google Analytics) that respect Do Not Track and shorten the IP address.

3. What we use it for

We do not sell your data and do not use it for third-party advertising.

  • Running the service: creating accounts, dispatch, pricing, tracking, cash, statements and reports.
  • Contacting you: login and verification codes, invoices, service notices, and replies to your questions.
  • Security, preventing abuse and protecting accounts.
  • Improving the product and fixing errors, from aggregated statistics.
  • Complying with the law and establishing our rights in a dispute.

4. Legal basis

We process data to perform our contract with you, with your consent where needed, for our legitimate interest in securing and improving the service, to meet legal obligations, and in line with Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020.

5. Who we share it with

We use providers that process data on our behalf, only as far as the service needs:

  • Hosting and storage to run the system and keep backups.
  • Meta (WhatsApp Business) to send login codes, tracking links and merchant invitations, and to receive delivery status. These messages are also subject to Meta's privacy policy.
  • An email service to send verification codes and invoices.
  • Google Maps to show locations and addresses, Google Analytics for website statistics, and Firebase for notifications.
  • A payment gateway when online payments are enabled.
  • Public authorities when the law or a court order requires it.

6. Location

A courier's location is used during work to show on the dispatch map and in the tracking link. You can deny location permission in your device settings, but that disables dispatch and tracking for the courier.

A customer's and a merchant's location is kept until addresses change or are deleted.

7. How long we keep it

We keep data for as long as the company subscribes, then for a limited period that we tell you about so it can be exported, and then it is deleted or anonymised. Financial records and invoices are kept for as long as the law requires.

8. How we protect it

No system is 100% secure. If a breach affects your data we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS) between your device and our servers.
  • Passwords stored hashed, and dashboard sign-in with a verification code sent by email.
  • Permissions per role (owner, dispatcher, accountant...), and each company sees only its own data.
  • A record of important actions and regular backups.

9. Your rights

Under the law you may ask to:

  • Know what personal data we hold about you and get a copy.
  • Correct wrong or incomplete data.
  • Have your data deleted or its use restricted, except what we must keep.
  • Object to the processing of your data, and withdraw your consent at any time.

10. If you are a customer, merchant or courier of a delivery company

The company you deal with controls your data. Send your request to them first; if you need our help, contact us and we will help the company respond.

11. Cookies

The site uses a few files to run, to remember your language and to measure visits in aggregate. You can block or delete them in your browser settings, which may affect some functions.

12. Children

Sekka is for businesses and people over 18, and we do not knowingly collect children's data.

13. Transfers outside Egypt

Some of our providers (such as Meta and Google) may process data on servers outside Egypt, and we make sure suitable safeguards protect it.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the date of the last update is at the top. For a material change we will tell you.
